InterMed Global agrees that hospitals and other healthcare institutions
must be held to high standards by a method of accreditation. Whether
this accreditation is through a country's own regulatory system
or through internationally accepted accreditation authorities such
as JCI and others, it provides a minimum baseline level of quality
and safety assurance for patients traveling across borders.
Medical travel companies, medical travel agents and facilitators
must require the same high standards for themselves and for the
hospitals and clinics with whom they partner.
Accreditation is voluntary. While desirable, it does not guarantee
compliance with the stated quality and safety standards. Compliance
is dependent on the principles and practices of the institution
itself including participation in international bodies such as International
Medical Travel Association.
Accreditation is an expensive commitment for any institution. In
preparation for accreditation, or to benchmark your hospital against
accepted standards, InterMed Global specialists with JCI experience
will review your facility and provide an evaluation and detailed
report for your action.
